RSF Funding Support from The Ed Sheeran Foundation

We are delighted to announce that the newly launched Ed Sheeran Foundation has chosen to fund The Rhythm Studio Foundation’s award-winning Primary Schools Workshop Programme for the next three years. This vital support will help us expand access to music education for 1,800 children in some of West London's most disadvantaged areas.

The Rhythm Studio Foundation fills a gap with its ten-week Primary Schools Workshop Programme that focuses on engaging 8–11-year-olds in local state primary schools with limited access to music education. Half of the schools we collaborate with are located in the 20 most deprived wards in London.

Over the next three years, the programme, funded by the Ed Sheeran Foundation, will empower around 1,800 students to create and perform music they love by giving them access to industry-standard studios, equipment and professional teaching. In turn, it will provide students with a practical skill they can use independently, as well as introducing them to experiences and potential career pathways they may not have explored otherwise.

In May 2024, Ed Sheeran and his team visited The Rhythm Studio Foundation to witness its inspiring work with young people. During the visit, they engaged with pupils from the schools’ programme, watched band performances, and listened to music production projects created by the students.

I want kids to have the opportunity to learn instruments, explore production and songwriting, perform, and access apprenticeship schemes that equip them with the skills needed to enter the industry.
