Last week members of the RSF team took a trip down to the London Business Centre to visit The London Music & Drama Expo 2024. The event had stands and talks from all different areas of Music and Drama education. Featuring companies such as RSL, Focusrite, Faber & Faber and Steinberg, there was plenty to see and do around the convention.
We attended a number of different panels and talks taking place across the event. This included a talk regarding teaching ‘the absolute beginner musician’, utilising different tips and tricks to help beginners pick up different musical skills quickly. Another interesting panel was about the use of AI in Music Education. Focusing on the different uses of Artificial Intelligence in teaching Music, and the potential ethical questions of using AI within the creative field of Music. Chat GPT also had a seat at the panel.
James also attended the Focusrite talk about ideas for Music Tech for the classroom whilst Diahann attended talks about The National Plan for Music Education and the Future of Music Hubs as well as from the inspiring Alexis Ffrench, the world’s fasting growing classical artist and a passionate advocate for music education.
