This Summer Michael Benöhr will be teaching two exciting drum masterclasses at The Rhythm Studio - R&B/Soul Drumming and Drumming In Different Styles. Sessions take place over the course of two afternoons with one session for beginner to intermediate level drummers, and another for more advanced students.
R&B and Soul drumming
The influence of R&B and Soul in modern pop music is enormous (Adele, Amy Winehouse, Plan-B…) and so is the importance of R&B and Soul drumming. In two sessions this drum workshop will focus on learning how to play some of the most famous and influential R&B and Soul tunes, from the classics through to current chart hits.
Beginner to intermediate levels / 2-day workshop on Monday 4th August and Tuesday 5th August, 4pm-5:30pm / Fee: £50
Drumming In Different Styles
This masterclass is all about how to becomea well-rounded drummer. In two sessions students will get to know a wide spectrum of music genres and how they are played on the drum kit. The first session will cover Blues, Rock and Funk, and the second will cover Jazz and World music (Samba, Son, Reggae). This workshop is a great opportunity for drum students to take their playing to a next level by learning a huge variety of rhythms and styles.
